Week 7: Monday | Passion Week
The Most Intense, Life-Changing Week in History
✉️ Dear Friend,
Passion Week—the final days leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion—is an emotional rollercoaster if there ever was one. It starts with celebration (Palm Sunday), then spirals into betrayal, injustice, and unimaginable suffering, only to end with the greatest act of love the world has ever seen. And let’s be honest—if we knew we were walking toward our own brutal execution, we’d be running in the opposite direction. But Jesus? He stepped forward willingly because He knew it was the only way to rescue us.
As His followers, we don’t just remember Passion Week—we walk through it. We slow down, lean in, and let the weight of it sink into our hearts. Because when we do, Easter morning isn’t just another holiday—it’s the victorious ending to the greatest rescue mission in history. So, let’s not rush past this week. Let’s sit with it, wrestle with it, and let it shape us. Jesus didn’t just die for us—He calls us to take up our cross and follow Him. And that, my friend, changes everything.
This week, I want to challenge us to read through Passion Week in The Message translation. Why? Because I want this to feel real—not just words on a page, but Jesus speaking directly to you. His sacrifice wasn’t just a moment in history; it was a personal act of love, for you.
Let’s step into this story together—and let it change us.
Monday
The Suffering Servant
📖 Scripture:
"But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought he brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures. But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole.” (Isaiah 53:4-5 MSG)
❤️ Reflection:
Jesus was rejected, beaten, and crushed—not for His sins, but for ours. Every wound He took was for us, for our healing, for our redemption. The suffering He endured wasn’t random or meaningless—it was the price of love.
The most incredible thing? He willingly took it all.
🔥 Challenge: Take time to truly reflect on what Jesus endured for you. How does His sacrifice shape the way you live?
